Does Omnilux and Healite II treat acne?

Omnilux blue is designed to deliver pure light at the precise wavelength. The blue light therapy has proven to be an ally in the fight against acne. It stimulates anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory activity in the deeper layers of the skin, working to stabilise sebum production and treat acne.

When a combination of Healite II, Omnilux revive and Omnilux blue are used the benefits for the skin are combined. The blue helps to treat redness and inflammation while the red treats acne scarring and promotes healing.

What actually happens during a treatment?

Make-up and sunblock is removed prior to your treatment. The light is positioned close to your face for the treatment which takes 20 minutes. You should experience a feeling of relaxation and well-being during and after the treatment. Following your 20-minute session, you can go back to your normal routine.

What is Omnilux and Healite II?

Omnilux  and Healite II are medical devices that utilise light emitting diodes (LED) technology. This cutting edge technology uses visible red and invisible infrared LED’s. Healite II Omnilux and work with the body’s own natural processes to counteract the effects of ageing.

The light technology works because the cells within the body contain certain receptors that absorb light naturally. When the body is exposed to light, these receptors absorb the light waves and kick-start a cellular response. Different wavelengths of light will stimulate different cellular responses within the cell.

How does Omnilux and Healite II work?

Omnilux Revive, Omnilux Plus  and Healite II acts to energise, rejuvenate, and repair damaged skin and uneven skin tone.

As we grow older, the cells that manufacture the skin’s supportive structures begin to slow down. Environmental damage from the sun’s rays speeds up this process and produce free radicals that damage the skin and the cells that produce collagen. Omnilux  and Healite II combination light therapy targets specific cells, which are responsible for the synthesis and repair of the skins supportive structures, leading to a softening of fine lines and improved skin tone.

Is it safe?

Omnilux and Healite II are safe and painless and will not damage the skin. They have  been used in hospital dermatology and oncology departments for the past 15 years for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancers. The only safety measure required during a treatment is that the client wears goggles to protect their eyes.

How long will the treatment take?

Your initial treatment will be around 45 minutes and include a detailed skin analysis and consultation. Ongoing treatments will typically be 30-minute appointments with the light being administered for 20 minutes.

Optimum results will not be seen until four to eight weeks after treatment, because the natural process of healing and rejuvenation stimulated by the light therapy continue to work for a length of time following the treatments.
